Pindaya
Caves

This morning, after breakfast, we transfer to the airport for a short flight to Heho, where our guide and driver are awaiting our arrival. As we travel through beautiful scenery, we make our way to the Pindaya Caves, set high on a limestone ridge overlooking a lake. A tour of the cave reveals thousands of ancient buddhas. It is quite a spectacle. Lunch is at a restaurant at the edge of the lake.
Pandaya is famous for having the best green tea and tea leaf salad. The Danu people are mainly growers of tea leaves. Traveling to the villages in the hills, we enjoy the stunning views filled with tea leaf plantations and visit a house where the host explains the process of fermentation of the leaves for the wildly popular and unique tea leaf salad. We walk through a tea leaf field to see how the leaves are harvested. Later back at the house, our host instructs us on the process of making this famous salad, which we enjoy along with our driver and guide.
