The train arrives in Chiang Mai at 07:15. Transfer to the airport, pick up the rental car and head north to Chiang Dao. The "Nest" enjoys an idyllic setting near the base of
Chiang Doa Mountain, our destination for Brunch. An unlikely location but...the Nest has an award-winning European Gourmet Restaurant, set in a picturesque site surrounded by mountains. The 1-1/2 hour drive gets us out of the city. Our scenic loop drive begins.
After brunch, we drive over to our hotel and check in. We could have stayed at the Nest in one of their bamboo cottages but after a long train trip, better to be comfortable for our first night in the mountains. The hotel is only minutes away in a beautiful location.
